The Boundary That Set Me Free

I had a moment a couple years ago when I felt completely depleted.

God gave me a picture…

I was standing on a bridge, throwing money down to people below.

And they just kept taking it.

And I just kept throwing it.

Over and over.

But the money wasn’t just money.

It was my time.
My energy.
My space.
My giving.

And I heard this in my heart so clearly:

“As long as you keep pouring out, they will keep standing there.”

That moment changed me.

Because it wasn’t about them.

It was about me.

My heart.
My patterns.
My lack of boundaries.

I wasn’t giving from overflow anymore.

I was giving from depletion.

And over the last few years, layer by layer, God has been gently showing me where things were out of balance.

Not wrong.

Just… out of balance.

Each time I set a boundary, I felt it.

Freedom.

And then another layer would surface.

And another.

Until recently, when I had to set a hard boundary again. One where I couldn’t worry about how others felt.

Because loving others should never come at the cost of losing yourself.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

You can have a giving, servant-hearted nature and still need boundaries.

You can love deeply and still say no.

You can Be Love Give Love® and still honor yourself.

If something feels off within you, pause there.

God is so faithful to meet you in those places.

And what He reveals isn’t to shame you.

It’s to free you.

Layer by layer.
Glory to glory.
